NDXLRTE - From Feb 15 thru March 16 of 1997 to install an activity center and meeting point at Index Gallery around video, computer and performance - forms it seems more and more artists like to work with - but that are not always shown in a clear and accessible way - proposed here is a functional - and yes - friendly place - not necessarily really happening including everything and with all going on at once - more just somewhere to sit down - take a moment and go through what is going on at the moment - what is interesting and new -as well as things you thought you knew - but never quite looked at this way - moving images - not least - talk and text - with each moment giving way for the next important - someone there to take care of everything - push buttons for you - and give answers to any questions you might have always wanted to ask - an extensive but consciously selected choice of expressions - comfortably installed - a downstairs viewing area and information base - artist's posters and projects for magazines - computer access and a home-page - a table for printed matter - performance corner - in combination with other 'live' presentations of different kinds - with all these things being easily sent around there ought to be a possibility of making this a loaded shock-full - complex and engaging like life itself - all while taken active care of - an expanded consciousness - and continuously moving floor - before you know you'll be back for more!  |
