From October 14 until November 27, selected works from Index' archive of contemporary Swedish and international video will be on display at K1 space, Kulturhuset, Stockholm. The screening programme ”Index: Six Perceptions of an Archive” contains of five individual takes on the content of the archive plus a presentation of artist Mats Hjelm's trilogy White Flight, Man to Man and Kap Atlantis - produced by Index during the years of 1997 - 2002. The screenings are initiated and put together by the students of Konstfack's CuratorLab, a one-year course of study and practice for emerging practitioners in the field of art and theory. The project is a collaboration between CuratorLab, Index and Kulturhuset in order to present and make use of this wide range of artists videos, a collecting effort that started in the mid-nineties, still continuing today. The archive to this date contains of more than 250 titles, functioning both as a collecting strategy and an open system, to which artists can submit, update and withdraw their work at their own initative.
